We released "única (ウニカ)", a web service that allows producers and consumers to directly trade channel-free vegetables and fruits, on September 30, 2019.

One of Unica's key features is its focus on trading vegetables and fruits that are considered "unsightly", viewing them as unique products that are only different in terms of appearance from regular ones.

Apparent substandard vegetables, such as those that are too big, too small, crooked, that have been damaged during the cultivation process, or that have subpar coloring, are often discarded without being sold, even though their contents are no different from those of regular vegetables.
Due to this, the food loss generated in the production area amounts to about 1.5 million to 2 million tons in a year.

This service is a production area-direct web service that allows producers and consumers to directly trade these vegetables and fruits.
By trading discarded vegetables and fruits, we contribute to the following:
1) Increase in sales for the portion that was previously disposed of by producers
2) Provision of the opportunity for consumers to purchase products that are uncommonly found in supermarkets
3) Reduction of food loss that arises in the production area as a social issue
