EMPLOYEE INTERVIEWS

Ms. N. N.

An engineer for 2 years
Web Media Officer
  • Ms. N. is in charge of Style Free's services, "nomina" and "BUILD". Please tell us what kind of work do you do.
I am involved in a wide range of media management tasks including article planning, proofreading and editing, communication with external writers, and actual article writing and recipe creation.
  • What originally led you to get involved in your current work?
The idea began when my boss reached out to me and it was decided that we will launch an in-house media solution during our internal planning competition to develop a new service.
I have always been interested in planning and design, so the idea of building a media solution from scratch was appealing to me and I decided to participate.
  • When you first joined the company as a new graduate, you received training as an engineer, right? Do you have any current opportunities to do programming?
I do not do any programming in my current job. However, the programming knowledge is useful when renovating our website.
  • Even now, the knowledge from training is still useful! I think your current work is mainly in the web marketing field, but what part of it do you find rewarding?
I feel a sense of accomplishment when the special features and articles that I have planned are read by many people.
While "nomina" and "BUILD" have completely different target audiences, we want to deliver information to alleviate the stress of people who work hard every day and make their daily life more fulfilling.
So it is rewarding when you receive a good response on an article that you have thought through!
  • No matter what kind of work you do, it will always be satisfying when you get good results on something that you have worked on from scratch! Do you have any dreams for the future or hopes on how you would like your career to develop?
I would like to expand the media solutions that I am currently involved in.
Since we are running these with only a few members, we can do things and come up with ideas quickly. However, there are also some projects that we have to give up on due to the small number of members...
I want to plan articles and events that users will want to read every day and look forward to updates.
  • Currently, you also provide guidance to your junior colleagues as a sub-manager, right?
That is right. I became a sub-manager this year and a few new employees, including new graduates, joined the team.
*Our company has an organizational structure and a follow-up system where sub-managers work under managers, and rank-and-file employees work in a team under them.
  • As a sub-manager, are there any things you are careful about or conscious of when interacting with your juniors?
When I was a new graduate myself, I was not good at consulting or asking for help from my senior colleagues. Thus, I am trying to build a relationship where it will be easy to get advice and ask questions so that I can try to get as much out of you as possible!
  • New graduates in particular tend to be hesitant so this kind of way of thinking is very important.
Lastly, please give a message to job-hunting students!
While job hunting, you may find yourself thinking about your future and career, and feeling anxious. Imagine what you want to do and how you want to work, and work hard on it!
  • I was able to hear valuable feedback from someone who is in a position to mentor junior colleagues, as an employee involved in our company's services!
Thank you for your time today!
